the most obscure request yet?

This one is about Strat's official spreadsheet that contains the ATG player set.

Strat, I am begging you, when listing a hitter's run rating, just list it as an integer. Like 14. Not 1-14. Excel cannot be convinced that 1-14 is not a date, because Excel is obsessed with turning everything into dates with no recourse for the user. Thanks in advance.

SOM is unlikely to respond to this request. However, you should be able to format the run-rating column to text. That should solve the problem.

One would think, but for some reason Excel takes that to mean that I want "1-15" to display as a 5-digit number in the 40,000s.

Weird. I thought I would try out my suggestion myself. But I didn't need to; it simply accepted 1-14 as is. However, I don't use Excel; instead, I use LibreOffice which is a free clone of MS Office. I'm not sure it would be worth it to download it since you already have Excel, but on the other hand, it might solve your issue!

Nice, I'm not surprised it handles dates better as it couldn't possibly handle them worse. I ultimately had to paste the cells into Notepad then paste them back into Excel.
