Posted: Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:14 amThis is minor in the grand scheme of things, but a frustrating thing that occurs all of the time in auto draft leagues is unhelpful replacements for the players you miss on in the draft.
Example. I just missed out in the draft on Smoltz and Peavy, two right hand pitchers with stars (4-man rotation). They get replaced in the draft by Sabathia, a left handed star, and Wood, a no star. There is zero chance that I will be keeping either one of them.
I understand that the program is set up to where if you miss a guy in the draft, he is replaced by the next closest salary guy. However, the technology exists to replace the guy you missed with more similar profile guys. In my example, Smoltz and Peavy would have been replaced by two right handed star guys of close salary that I may actually have a chance of keeping on my roster. It's like ordering your groceries on click list and choosing a chicken breast but they are out of chicken so they replace it with a box of cheeze-its.
