Hey guys,
Many of you have been asking about Live Draft for weeks now, so I'm sure this is an anticipated post for you. The answer comes directly from our programmers:
"As of now we do not know when Live Draft functionality will be restored. The problem is that the Live Draft on the Sporting News site was borrowed from their Fantasy games, which they re-purposed for use in their version of the Strat-O-Matic Online Baseball game. We do not have the rights to use their Live Draft engine on our site, so we must build our solution from the ground up. We will continue working towards restoring the Live Draft, but due to the amount of development work necessary to create a robust and stable Live Draft feature we consider this a long-term project."
As mentioned previously, right now they are currently working on restoring the manager ratings. You can find out more on that here. (2002 should be finished shortly and old teams from that year posted early next week).
I'm sure you're next question is what does long-term mean? Well due to the difficulties in projecting development time, we're not quite sure. However we do want to confirm that live-draft is in our development plans, and we will make every effort to bring it back to the online game.
The other thing I wanted to mention is sign-ups have begun for the 2013 Barnstormers ATG Tournament!
In case you don't know this annual ATG Event comprises of 6 Events spread out over the spring and summer and ending with the SemiFinal and Final round. Prizes handed out to the Champion and runner-up of the entire tournament include tickets to an MLB game as well as a choice of our board game or Windows game for the Champion. Additional prize credits are given out for those with the most wins per league grouping per event.
