Garcia's Blog 9/17/15- Notes

Hey guys,

A few small things today that we consistently receive e-mails about.

First, changing a player set and/or salary cap. If you create a team but chose the wrong player set, salary cap, don't find any open leagues with your choices, etc. you can easily change your settings if you wish. Just click on your team and within your team information you will see a button to change both your player set and salary cap if you desire. You can do this even if you've joined a league. Just click to leave a league and then you'll see these options within your team info. We often receive requests to do this for users but you can do this yourself if you don't want to wait for us to get the e-mail.

A similar thing is changing your team name. Just go to Your team>Change Team/Manager Name. However users may only change their team name once only before Game 21 of the regular season. After that you are not able to change your team name. If you have already changed your team name but need to make another one you can always e-mail us and we may be able to make the change for you. So, if you're in a theme league and you change your team a few times, feel free to let us know and we would be happy to make the changes for you. That's not a problem.

If you decide to leave a league that you created which would leave it empty, don't worry about needing to delete the league. Just leave it with 0 teams in it. We run a function each night which deletes empty leagues. The only times we do not do this is if a tournament is running and we leave the 'league purge' off intentionally to avoid deleting a brand new tournament league. When this happens, we'll leave that on for a few days until all tournament leagues have a few teams in them and we turn the 'league purge' back on.

Another note, remember that if you want to view boxscores of your older teams we will no longer carry them once the teams are archived. This is done to conserve space on the website and to ensure the site runs quickly. If you would like to review or save any of those boxscores make sure to do so before that happens! However all tournament teams are saved under Recently Completed Teams so you still do have access to them. If you see older teams still listed under Recently Completed Teams, they're probably from tournaments so the stats and boxscores can be kept.

Lastly, prize credits are usually awarded when the league completes. However in 24-team leagues, credits that are won for winning the division are handed out as soon as the regular season ends. Any other prize credits don't get handed out until after the playoffs finish. If you receive a credit but didn't get a notification about it, that could be the reason. Also, if the front office page says you've received a credit but don't see an increase it's possible that the credit was already handed out a few weeks earlier. Whenever you believe there may be a discrepancy in the number of credits you should have, please e-mail us and we can make sure you have the correct number.

That's all I have for this week. As always, please e-mail any questions to onlinegamesupport@strat-o-matic.com with any questions. Talk to everyone next Thursday!
