Garcia's Blog XXIII- Tournaments

Hey guys,
As most of you know Baseball Online is host to two tournaments during the year, the Barnstormer's Tournament using the All-Time Greats player set, and the Player's Championship which uses the current season cards, this year the 2012 set. The Barnstormer's Tournament is run by mighty moose and information can be found here while gbrookes runs the Player's Championship. More info on that can be found here. Both do a fantastic job running these year-long tournaments and I wanted each to get their deserved recognition this week.
This week is special as the 2012 Barntormer's Tournament has crowned a champion! Congratulations to nels52 on winning! His team went 90-72 in the tournament's championship event and won the finals in 5 games (Game 5 ending on a Tris Speaker walk-off single) against Treyomo. Congrats to Treyomo as well on being the runner-up! Both users will receive tickets to a MLB baseball game of their choice while nels52 will also receive either the Windows or board SOM baseball game for winning.
Now although the 2013 Barnstormer's Tournament has already begun, we are just about to start taking sign-ups for the 2013 Player's Championship. Head over to the forum page as details should be coming any day. This year's tournament will have 5 events (if you play in all 5 your lowest round gets dropped!) before a playoff between the top 36 managers and a championship round. The prizes given out are the same, tickets for both the winner and runner-up while the winner will also receive the Windows or board SOM baseball game. Again, gbrookes will outline the particulars when sign-ups begin although you can head here for a look at the tournament page. In order to win you must participate so be on the lookout!
EDIT 5/24: Sign-ups went up last night. Here's the link to sign-up! http://forum.onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=632860
That's all I have for this week but if you have any suggestions for future blogs and/or any questions, please let us know at onlinegamesupport@strat-o-matic.com.
