Garcia's Blog XXV- Fair Play

PostThu Jun 06, 2013 4:03 pm

Hey guys,

Before I get to the main portion of today's post, I just want to let everyone know that May's lottery winners are up. You can find the list of May's winners (as well as links to the other month's winners) here.

Now on to my main topic for the day, fair play. In the last few months there have been a couple managers who have deliberately dropped all of their players and replaced them with minimum salary guys. Although this is a very rare occurrence, it is extremely disrespectful to your league-mates and ruins the season for those people. That's why Strat-O-Matic has a "Fair Play Policy" built into the game rules which can be seen below.

Fair Play policy

Please be respectful of your league-mates throughout the season so that all may have a pleasant environment in which to play. The following behavior will not be tolerated:

Tanking. You may not intentionally throw games, under any circumstances.

Salary dumping.
You may not jettison talent from your team, hold a "fire sale", or otherwise make wholesale changes to your roster that reduces the overall salary value of your team.

Collusion. You may not conspire with another manager, by making trades or by changing your team settings when playing against that team, to achieve any sort of anti-competitive goal, e.g. to help a team win, or to gang up on another team.

Offensive language. You may not communicate with other managers in a manner that they could find offensive.

If you violate any of the above rules, at our discretion, Strat-O-Matic.com will seize control of your team and you will not be eligible for a refund. Repeat offenses will result in a ban from ever playing the game again.

Again, although this a very rare occurrence we want to make sure that this will not be tolerated and on the occasions that we do become aware of this your team will be transferred to another account. If during the season you find yourself no longer interested in the team, simply let it run it's course rather than ruining the league for everyone else.

Speaking of the game rules, over the next few weeks we will be expanding any sections that need it as well as clearing up any confusing entries that we can find. If anyone has any suggestions on what you want to see added to the game rules page or anything you might find that could use further explanations please let us know. For a refresher on the rules you can find them here.

Sign-ups continue for the 2013 Player's Championship. If you're interested in joining please check out the forum page here. You can also see the tournament page on the Strat-O-Matic website by going here.

As always, any ideas for blog topics or other questions/comments, please e-mail me at onlinegameuspport@strat-o-matic.com. Talk to everyone next Thursday!

-John
