Garcia's Blog XXXIX- General Notes

PostThu Sep 19, 2013 4:11 pm

Hey guys,

Just a few general notes for today on frequent e-mails we have received in the last few weeks. First, about our Mystery Games. All of the four decade games ('60s, '70s, '80s, '90s) are "Mystery Games". I've written about them before but for each of these games only one of the five possible cards for each player are used. That card is randomly determined before the start of the season and remains the same throughout the season, even if the player is traded, released, injured, etc. The card stays the same. However it is not revealed until the end of the season.

A user wrote in last week letting us know that the 1924 Frankie Frisch card image was displaying an open ended split on 1-12 vs RHP. It was showing "SI* 1-" but nothing after the "1-". This should have displayed "SI*" without any split readings. If anyone notices a player with a similar problem please let us know.

Some teams have been receiving weird defensive substitutions taking out the last healthy player eligible at a position and replacing them with a player not rated at that position, notably for catchers. This could happen if you have checked the player to be removed for a defensive sub. Every time you have a lead in the 8th inning or later the game will attempt to remove the players checked to be removed. If you only have two catchers and your backup is checked to be removed then the game will still remove the catcher and replace him with another player, regardless of whether he is eligible at catcher or not.

I have mentioned this is the past but a user had discovered a Firefox add-on would cause the game not to function properly, clean links 2.2.1. If you find a similar problem with that add-on please disable it and the game will work correvtly. We have not yet received any other notifications of add-ons that can cause problems with the game but please let us know if you find any others that may cause problems. If we receive any others we will make sure to post them so everyone is aware that it may cause a problem.

That's all I have for today but if anyone has any questions or comments please let us know at onlinegamesupport@strat-o-matic.com. Have a great weekend and talk to you all next Thursday!

-John
