Hey guys,
It's time! We're are about to debut Live Draft!
In order to make sure the debut of our new Live Draft feature goes as smoothly as possible, we are going to be managing its rollout slowly and carefully, explicitly scheduling our first few official drafts one at a time, so that we can monitor each of them closely.
Our very first two official Live Drafts will be held next week at the following times!
- this Monday, January 20, at 9pm ET - this draft is now full
- this Thursday, January 23, at 9pm ET - this draft is now full also
Both drafts/leagues will use the ATG 7 player set, and a $999,000,000 salary cap (in other words, unlimited). The full parameters of the leagues are:
12-team league, with division assignments randomly assigned when the league fills
Player Set: ATG 7
Salary Cap: $999,000,000
DH Rule: No (default for ATG 7)
Skill level: Advanced
Waivers: Yes (default)
Turn duration: 2 minutes (default)
If you are interested in participating in either one of these inaugural Live Drafts - and competing in the league! - please take the following steps:
1) Create a new team under your Baseball Online account - it doesn't matter what settings you use - and just leave it alone and empty.
2) Write an email to onlinegamesupport@strat-o-matic.com indicating your desire to take part in one (or both - although you'll be restricted to one) of these Live Drafts and compete in the corresponding league. Be sure to include:
- your Baseball Online username
- the name of the team you've reserved for the league
If you qualify for one of the available spots, we'll respond to your email, and in advance of your draft we'll place the team you've reserved into the league.
As soon as we have enough teams to fill both drafts we'll update this post letting you know, so you won't be sending in (too many) submissions for spots that are no longer available.
We are sticking with ATG 7 (and a $999M cap) for these first two drafts because that was the most popular player set when it was on TSN. Ultimately, the Live Draft will be available for all player sets.
