Hey guys,

Last week I wrote about the 2013 Players Championship coming to a close. This week, 2014 sign-ups are underway! You can find the link to sign-up here. Gbrookes is again running this tournament and has done a great job in the past. This is taken from a post of his in the PC Tournament Forum:

2014 PC Tournament

The 2014 tournament will have 5 events, and a 2 round playoff. In the playoff, the top 36 managers will play in 3 twelve team leagues. The playoff teams from those 3 leagues will become eligible for the final 12 team league. The champion from that final league becomes the tournament champion, and the other finalist becomes the runner up for the tournament.

The score for the "round robin" will be the sum of the best 4 scores out of the 5 events. This provides several benefits for the tournament:

-if someone misses event 1 but still wants to join up for event 2, they can do that, and still have a very realistic chance of making the playoffs.

-if someone joins for event 1 but misses one of events 2-5, they aren't completely "sunk".

-if someone enters all 5 events, but just "boots" one of them, they aren't sunk by that either.

-As a side-bar to the above, this will allow me to invoke closure on entering events with a little more of an iron fist. When you have only 4 events and they all count, it's hard to do that, since it effectively eliminates that manager from the tournament. With the best 4 of 5 counting, you still have a realistic shot at making the playoffs even if you miss an event.

Additional rules and more information can be found here. Again, to sign-up use this link.

In more general news, two smaller new features are being added to the site this week. The first is up/down arrows to Bullpen Roles. This has been up since Tuesday and now is much more user friendly when accessing the game on a mobile device or tablet. The second new feature is full injury logs for leagues. This was just pushed live tonight.

This will show you the league's injuries (filtered by team) for the entire season and the total number of days injured for each team. In addition you will be able to see the injured player's salary, which game they were injured in, and how games were missed. Each column will also be sortable allowing you to quickly sort by player name and see how many total games your oft-injured star missed with his multiple injuries.

That's all I have this week. As always, if anyone has any questions please e-mail us at onlinegamesupport@strat-o-matic.com. Talk to everyone next week!
