Hey guys,
In the last couple weeks we've gotten a few e-mails about managers who have deliberately dropped all of their players and replaced them with minimum salary guys. Although this is a very rare occurrence, it is extremely disrespectful to your league-mates and ruins the season for those people. In addition, it's against the rules. We have a "Fair Play Policy" built into the game rules that should prevent managers from doing this. Here it is below:
Fair Play policy
Please be respectful of your league-mates throughout the season so that all may have a pleasant environment in which to play. The following behavior will not be tolerated:
Tanking. You may not intentionally throw games, under any circumstances.
Salary dumping. You may not jettison talent from your team, hold a "fire sale", or otherwise make wholesale changes to your roster that reduces the overall salary value of your team.
Collusion. You may not conspire with another manager, by making trades or by changing your team settings when playing against that team, to achieve any sort of anti-competitive goal, e.g. to help a team win, or to gang up on another team.
Offensive language. You may not communicate with other managers in a manner that they could find offensive.
If you violate any of the above rules, at our discretion, Strat-O-Matic.com will seize control of your team and you will not be eligible for a refund. Repeat offenses will result in a ban from ever playing the game again.
If you do see something like this in your league please let us know. We will immediately revert the transactions so competitive balance can be restored. Although this doesn't happen often we want to make sure that user know this will not be tolerated and on the occasions that we do become aware of this your team will be transferred to another account. If during the season you find yourself no longer interested in the team, simply let it run it's course rather than ruining the league for everyone else.
I wanted to again mention custom leagues and player sets that we've been able to create for those who write in about it.
As I've mentioned in the past, the smaller things we can do for individual leagues is allow leagues to skip the regular draft and move the league to pre-season mode before any players are drafted. At this point, leagues have been able to hold their draft by just adding players from the free agent pool. Now, no there are no restrictions on order put in place by us for these leagues so they must police themselves. Normally, these leagues have tended to have one manager draft their entire team before moving to the second team, who then drafts their entire team before the third team does, etc. However we can also do this for leagues who have other ideas and would like to skip straight to the pre-season mode. For other leagues, we've simply changed up the divisions, moved the league start date, or just changed waivers to frenzy. Little requests like this are always no problem.
However we can also create brand new player sets for users! In the past few weeks we've created custom ATG sets like this one that restrict the available ATG players. We've also created a custom 2007-14 League, that plays just like ATG does. The set includes every player from 2007-14, including unleashed players. All ballparks from the 2007-14 seasons are also included. All of these custom leagues can be found under ATG 8 "Shuffle the Deck" leagues. If anyone has a unique set such as this, please let us know and we should be able to work with you to create a customized player set!
That's all I have for this week. As always, please e-mail us with any questions to onlinegamesupport@strat-o-matic.com. Talk to everyone next Thursday!
