Hey guys,
This is long overdue but today I'm happy to say that starting today we have manager records available!
Throughout the site you will see that usernames are clickable and they will bring up that managers records. Often a quick bio of the users account will popup when you hover over someone's username. You can also find your own account under the Your Account menu. There we include every user's full manager record, including records for each player set that they have ever played with. The number of teams are listed, W-L record, winning percentage, the number of playoff teams, playoff W-L record, playoff winning percentage, and the number of Championships won.
A full leaderboard of manager records can be found under Community>Manager Records. There you will see the great 'nevdully's' and his unbelievable records in every counting stat (other than career losses). He's been so successful he's had more teams reach the playoffs than all but 5 users have had total teams! Naturally his 373 career championships is the top mark, almost 100 more than runner-up 'The Last Druid'.
In addition to just the manager records we have added an entire manager level and trophy system to reward special achievements!
The first thing on the page when you go into Your Records/Trophies is your manager level. A pop-up shows you exactly what it means but I've included it below also:
Prospect- brand new user/0 wins
Rookie- 500 wins
Starter- 1,000 wins
Veteran- 10,000 wins
All-Star- 25,000 wins
MVP- 50,000 wins
Hall of Famer- 75,000 wins
Legend- 100,000 wins
It will take a few teams to move up to the Rookie level and gets harder to advance once you pass the Starter level. Legend status is a monumental achievement and although the most die-hard, hard-core gamers will ever reach that level. Only 5 users ever have in the history of Baseball Online.
Perhaps the most exciting addition is the trophy system. That's probably the first thing that stands out when you click on a manager's username. On the front page we show a quick glimpse of each user's earned trophies along with recent achievements they've accomplished. A click to show the full trophy case will list all of our current possible trophies, each trophy earned, and a full list of that user's achievement activity.
Each trophy is broken out into a larger category. The categories are Managerial Career (which lists Championships, Playoffs Reached, and Tournaments), Individual Hitter/Pitcher Seasons (including breaking 60 homeruns, achieving a sub-2.00 ERA, breaking the saves record, etc), Team Season (for wins and team home runs), and Single Game Achievements (including 20 K games, No-Hitters, and a 5 HR game).
Each trophy has Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels and the championships and playoffs reached go beyond that to reward extraordinary achievement. Some trophies will be relatively easy to obtain (a bronze trophy is awarded for your first 10-K game) while others will be extremely difficult (have a hitter with 100 home runs in a season). For all player and team trophies, highlighting over the trophy will show you which player/team achieved the feat. You will be able to link directly to the player card or team page from the Achievement Activity list.
Every user already has their managerial career trophies awarded. We have been able to log all tournament participation trophies back to 2007 however we do not have Finals League records back before the game moved to our site. All other trophies will start from tonight on. Season trophies will be awarded at the completion of the regular season while single game trophies are awarded the night of the game. Any seasons currently in progress (including those who are currently in the playoffs) will have their stats count toward season trophies.
We know this was a long time coming but we hope everyone enjoys the new manager records and trophy system. If anyone has any questions on this please let us know. As always you can reach us at onlinegamesupport@strat-o-matic.com. Talk to everyone next Thursday!
