Hey guys,
The Baseball Daily Media Experts League kicked off on Monday and on Opening Day Joe Sheehan had Max Scherzer throw a no-hitter for him! You can find the game here.
A recap of what this league is with a full list of participants can be found here and the league page here: 365.strat-o-matic.com/league/429801.
So far the league has been a great success as all 11 managers (plus Hal) are enjoying the games. In fact, Doug Glanville even blogged his coach hirings! You can find that here.
The league page can be found here:
Jack Curry's Strummerville team leads the way at 7-2. Sheehan and Marc Stein share the Central Division lead at 6-3 and Will Leitch leads the East also at 6-3. Hal's team is currently in last, falling to 1-8 after being swept by Curry on Wednesday night.
Who do you think will win the league? You can vote for you believe will win this league and secure $1,000 to their charity of choice here.

Moving on to some new additions to site, we have just pushed live a feature that display an injury on the free agent list. This works for all player sets but is especially useful for leagues that use the Super Advanced Injury rule. In addition, this new injury designation will display how long a player is injured for. Instead of just seeing an I next to a players name you will see I-3 with the number showing how long the player is out for you. This is currently working on both the team page and free agents pages. We will soon have it working on the Lineups, Rotation, and Per-game Starter pages as well.
Speaking of injuries, Baseball Daily leagues may have noticed that some players are listed with a 0 injury rating. While it's currently displaying as a 0 injury, no player in Baseball Daily has a true 0 injury rating. However sometimes injury ratings will not appear on one side of the card.
Although this doesn't happen with regular card sets, these cards need to be computed daily without any manual intervention. That means that you may see oddities such as this one where the computer program ran into an error and was not able to place a certain reading such as an injury. As a new card is created every day, you may see an injury rating missing for one day but go right back on the next.
We are currently looking into the display issue so that no player does display a 0 injury when they have a possibility to be hurt. In the meantime, please remember that all players have a potential to be injured. Of course, for any leagues who have started Monday or later, any player with a 1 injury will be limited to 3 (position players) or 6 (pitchers) game injuries. Any player with over a 1 injury rating may be injured for longer according to the Super Advanced Injury Chart.
That's all I have for today. As always, if anyone has any questions please let us know at 365support@strat-o-matic.com. Talk to everyone next week!
