Do I receive cash in an executed trade?

PostThu Mar 12, 2020 11:18 pm

Scenario:

I offer the team my 5 million player for his 4 million player. He also has 1 million in cash.

Can I assume if the trade is executed and he accepts the offer I will get 100% of his cash?

I played around with how it all works in the trade panel and when I review the trade offer it doesn't tell me I will get 1 million in cash, so, that's of concern. All it says on the review panel is something like "you've offered Smith and will receive Jones Do you want to make this offer?"

So, let me ask the question a different way. Is there no way my cash balance will ever increase as the result of a trade?

I didn't mention in my original post that I have $0 in cash. I was hoping execution of the trade would result in my cash balance going from $0 to $1000000 since I am getting a cheaper player for the one I'm giving. Or let's say I have 2 million in cash. I was hoping my cash balance would go from $2000000 to $3000000 as the result of the trade. Again, I'm receiving a cheaper player than the one I'm offering, so, somebody's cash has to increase as a result of the trade, right?

Well, when you trade a $5 player for a $4 player, you will have $1 excess cash.
But you're not "getting" it from the guy you trade with
