And what is the difference between these two items on a hitter's card?

It has something to do with optional rules. If you were playing "regular" Strat, I think you would have the option of ignoring the # and using the original result. The 365 game uses ballpark effects, so it always goes by the rule that lpezzeme posted earlier.
(I just learned this myself-- a couple years ago here on the forum-- and I was quite surprised. I had always interpreted the rule the same as you.)

Hi -- I'm pretty new to this game, so maybe it's been covered before, I just couldnt find it.

My question is whether the ATG9 All Eras database correctly accounts for ballpark effects for home runs.

Example for Babe Ruth (1923)

Neutral park (8/8/8/8) - HR-L = 11.5 HR-R = 11.8
That's what I get also if I calculate from the chances on the card: eg, HR-L= 5 + (8/20)*(1+3+4) + (11/20)*6 = 11.5

Wrigley Field '63 (4/13/19/10)
SOM gives HR-L = 15.9 HR-R = 16.2
I calculate HR-L = 15.9 HR-R = 12.6

Wrigley Field '59 (4/5/4/17)
SOM gives HR-L = 9.9 HR-R = 10.2
I calculate HR-L = 9.9 HR-R = 15.4

Looking at this, it seems that HR-R calcs are off coming from the SOM ATG9 All Eras database.

Maybe my calcs are off (?) but at least the impact of ballpark homer effects on the reported HR doesn't seem correct for RHP coming from SOM.

All 365 Strat games use super advanced rules and BP effects--when you look at a player in FA--It will be 8-8-8-8 in below card calculations (a neutral park), If he is on your team, it will be your home ballpark.

Also, you can scroll through the parks with a pull-down tab on BP effects--when on your team it will only be the parks in the league.

I've been exploring ballpark effects and noted the drop down menu. In 2021 dataset I never saw the phenomenom where the cards don't make sense though.

I'd really appreciate a favor to make sure I'm not crazy, if/when you have time.

Pull up the Babe Ruth (1923) card and select these 3 parks.
Neutral park
Wrigley '59
Wrigley '63

Do the relative HR bars make any sense given the supposed rating for HR-R of the ballpark? They don't for me.

Here is what I read from the Red HR bar
Neutral (HR-R = 8) --> 11.8
Wrigley '59 (HR-R = 10) --> 16.2 (rather a big change for a change in HR rating of 2...)
Wrigley '63 (HR-R = 17) --> 10.2 (lower than HR-R = 8!)

PS the same trend happened with the next card in the database (Barry Bonds - 2001).
