Assigning SP bullpen rolls

If a starting pitcher also has a relief rating will they be used in relief if assigned a bullpen roll? Say middleman or tied and late for example. Will this affect their next start?

Some managers have had success with this, but I have found that the computer manager (Hal) is very reluctant to bring in a reliever if he's also in your starting rotation.

41 starts. 21 wins and 22 saves. But also 22 loses He did win the CY and his Era was 4th in the league with his WHIP being third. In the postseason he was 2-1 with 2 saves.

It can work on the right circumstances with the right pitcher but if you have a higher cap it’s probably better served to get a stud reliever like Murray or Sutter

How did you do it? If you just listed him in a couple of places on relief list, Hal should not have brought him in tired.

I listed him as the closer only no other relief roles. And had him starting every 4th day. Hal will bring in the closer on F0 and let him pitch until he allows a baserunner

I haven't had that result when I tried. Hmm.
