"Hi everybody , and a very pleasant good evening to you, wherever you may be"

It could also be "It's time for Dodger Baseball". However, I'm pretty old, and he did not always say this. When Jerry Doggett was there, he would introduce Vin, and the Vin would welcome everyone with the "Hi everybody.....". So that one has been around a lot longer.

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful I got to grow up listening to that magical voice

You've got it covered Steve. I'll contact SOM re. the credit.

Thank you kindly! I'm not working, so a credit is huge to me right now.

Cool. I was hoping a Dodger's fan would be the first to respond. Go get that ring!

Warning: Avoid if you have I.strether PTSD.

Otherwise, some good info awaits. And the thread is huuuuuuge.

That was one of my better conversation starters and I am so disappointed it was ruined for no apparent reason - 28 pages and we still had hardly scratched the surface of where I wanted to run with that thread. Well, I say 28 pages. It's five pages of content and 23 pages of strether.

Thx Palmtana! Rereading some of the old threads makes me remember why I enjoy SOM online so much. And then again, why I enjoy it NOT so much!

J-Pav with another thought provoking thread. This time slanted towards new players.

New Players: Model of Skill Acquisition

A manager (since banned) appears in the thread who was argumentative just for the sake of being so. You will know who he is. If you don't want to read his silliness, or if there is someone else you would like to never hear from again:

1. Click on their name
2. Click on "Add Foe".

Who are the youngest and oldest online strat players?

Want to add to the sale credits you just bought? Take a guess on the average age of the managers who posted on the first 11 pages of this thread in 2006 (the last 4 pages are a bump from 2012 and I didn't want to do the math).

I'll transfer a credit to the first correct guess. One guess each. I'm going to delete the incorrect posts to keep this thread clean.

The average age I'm looking for is as of 2006, the year of the thread. Don't add 12 to get the current average age of the posters. Because I didn't specify, those who have already voted may do so again. Just as Yogi's first go-around as Yankees manager was ended by the "harmonica incident", it's time to conclude this.

Ages guessed so far:

36
37
39
40
44
45
52
57
58
61
63
64
