Confused about a play-by-play event

I haven't checked a play by play in a couple years, but the end of this game bothered me enough to see how in the world my bullpen collapsed so mightily. Aside from ugly series of events that led to the first 4 runs that inning...I just don't get the final play of the game.
Can someone explain the last play of the game to me? It looks to me like Kevin Siegrist gave up a single to Devon Travis on a roll of 4-6.
How could that be? It's a flyball B to rf. Even if it was an X, which it isn't, it was Heyward's all-world glove out there to boot. How does 4-6 become a single? Can't be a phantom fatigue that isn't printed on the card, it was Siegrist's first batter. I'm sure I'm missing something, can't wait to find out that there is some bizarre "the ball hit a seagull" event buried somewhere in the rules.
