Scumby is correct. In fact, a W-rated power hitter will never have a ball park homerun for the side(s) he is rated W for. So, the only time a ball park homerun will get turned into a single is off of the pitcher's card.

@coyote303 What if a pitcher's card has a HR chance that is NOT a ballpark HR chance? Example: '70 Andy Messersmith, 4-5 roll vs RH. Would a right-handed hitter rated Power "W" get the 1-16 HR, if rolled? I cannot find an answer on this anywhere. Thank you

If a W hitter rolls a homer off the pitcher's card, ballpark or otherwise, it becomes a SI**. If he rolls a homer off the hitter's card it remains a homer. And there are actually a handful of pre-1901 hitters who do have ballpark chances on their W-rated side.

W can't hit BP HR, but It is possible for a weak power hitter to hit a HR if he stretches a triple into an inside the park HR (miscellaneous rules)---I had 2 in a season by a player that hit none that year--both were Triple rolls. He was a 1-17 runner and taking all the minus numbers into account he probably had a 30% to 40% chance with a bad arm in the OF.
