Anyone want to divulge the secret setting(s) to keep your 5th starter from pitching?

Yes - put your sp* guys as 1-4 in the rotation and put the 5th guy as number 5. Because the other starters only need 3 days rest your 5th guy will never start and because he's in the rotation he will not come in to relieve unless you are basically out of guys. Good luck!

You could drop that 5th starter & replace him with one who can't relieve. Then he will never pitch barring an injury to one of your 4 starters.

There's a new Livan Hernandez that would do the trick as well.
