Ohtani injury for 2021 set

Ohtani got injured in G72 for me (last game last night, 2/5), for 8 games, while pitching. According to what I see in rules, that means he is out for 8 games as DH also, but that seems strange, since he has a 3 game INJ limit as a hitter. Is he indeed out for 8 games as a DH for me also? I haven't had him yet. And on top of that, right now his "I" listing shows I-8 as a pitcher but I-(blank, no number) as a hitter. Does this mean that he will be available to use as DH after 3 games? Has anyone had this happen to him in previous leagues for 2021?
