Strat-O-Matic Baseball 365

Am looking for some help from the community. I can’t seem to get bullpen usage right. I want my closer to be used in the 9th only and the setup in the 8th. Is there a setting for this? The closer typically comes in too early. Any help is appreciated!

First, if that's what you want, set Closer to MAXIMIZE on the TEAM STRATEGY section.

Then, in PITCHER PREFS mark your closer to Avoid using in BLOWOUTS and Avoid using before <8th.

Mark your Setup guy to Avoid using in BLOWOUTS and Avoid using before whatever inning you choose.

You didn't ask, but in this particular type of bullpen use, I'd like my setup guy to be an R2 or, preferably, R3, and make him Middle Man and Setup.

For my very best pitchers (starters and relievers), I set them at F8. Everyone else I leave blank. If one of my best pitchers has a stinker year (obviously talking about a mystery league here), I wait until I believe he has a good season before setting him to F8.

Thanks for the advice and I’ll give that a shot. It’s a bit confusing for
Pitchers. Wish it were clearer like the batter options.
