The rules on holding runners are more complex than I can explain simply. In some situations, when holding runners, an infielders defensive rating is increased by 1. That means Dihigo's SS rating will sometimes be a 4. You would have trouble against a small ball team where many of its runners need to be held. I have been using Arky Vaughn, an SS with a 2e27 rating in two leagues. In one he is far worse than the other. The difference may be due to the variances in dice rolls, but it may be partly related to the different base runners in the leagues. The league where he is doing worse is $110 million league.
