I've stated this elsewhere, but leagues will begin filling/replacing/closing at 9ET PM tonight (Thursday). At that time I will issue instructions to fillers and closers. Thanks to everyone who is helping in these ways!
As a bit of an aside, I have decided to shorten the number of leagues to 9 for the next event. I believe that 9 leagues are sufficient for the next event, based on expected no shows. If there is a "bubble" of players looking for leagues (which I doubt), priority will be given to those who check in earlier (or who have checked in earlier) for event 2. For this purpose, "check in" means communication either by PM or posting on the boards (preferably both) followed by actually entering your team. On person has already notified that he is entering a team this evening, and I will consider that checking in, if he enters his team in a timely manner this evening before the 9 PM ET deadline.
Nevertheless, players are reminded that they made a commitment to follow through with teams in all four events. So I'm not encouraging dropouts. Even if you're not happy with your event 1 or 2 teams, you could still make the finals with strong showings in events 3 and 4 , and even if you don't, please consider the pure joy of competing with strong managers , and the joy of this Strat game itself, and please honor your commitment. Thanks in advance!
Latecomers are reminded that life isn't perfect, and I'm not synchronizing watches, so the earlier they get it in, the safer they will be! (I tend to set my watch fast, and I'm at a hockey game watching my beloved Winnipeg Jets tonight. So, yeah, I might be sending instructions a little before 9, during the second intermission. I'm sorry, but I get to watch my hockey team too!
