Website for the 2020 Mystery Tournament

PostTue Jan 14, 2020 9:47 am

The official page for the tournament can be found here: https://365.strat-o-matic.com/tournament/36

Once games start being played, the overall standings on this page will be updated daily.

Five more days to sign up for the tournament - spread the word. We're at 123 right now, 9 more participants would put us at 11 leagues.

Could you clarify whether or not the 70s series will have a DH? I think your earlier email from Dec said yes, but this official page says no.

There will be a DH for the 70's. I've asked SOM support to update that on the official page. Thanks for mentioning this discrepancy.

I'd also like to clarify the "Champions" round a little bit. Once all 90s league have completed and we have an overall final 12 for all 4 rounds, those 12 participants will manually vote on which set to use, whether there will be a DH, salary cap, and whether it will be a standard draft or a live draft. I will facilitate this democratic process (which is done via discussion on this board) whether I am part of the final 12 or not.

365 support has linked up our 12 60's leagues to the standings on the official website. Once games are played on Monday the standings will automatically start updating.

This is great news, I am very excited that we can use a DH for the 1970s.

Juiced,

Just a curiosity question. I noticed the 60's playoffs are best of 7, best of 7. 70's playoffs are best of 5, best of 7.

Why the difference?

Perhaps one of the more senior players can answer this better, but I believe that the best of 5 is the default for the 70's because they played 5 game ALCS/NLCS series in 70's, unlike the other decades (and the current day) where they play best of 7 in that round.

70's - I just checked for league 11 and it says something to the effect of "Waivers - NO - Frenzy draft at 11pm". Yet in the League Directory, it says "yes" to Waivers.
Is that correct?
I didn't check all of the leagues, but I think they say the same.

I believe all the leagues should be waivers. I just looked and it looks to me like 1970s League 11 is waivers.
