2020 Mystery Tournament -- Finals Live Draft/70s Set

I'd rather have it right away.

There really isn't much to waivers and free agency. While you're free to drop your high draft picks, most of us are too proud to do that until we know they have a bad card. There normally isn't too much player movement with this group until opening day.

I'm also in favor of the quick start. With each team having already drafted 13 players, we won't need major changes in the preseason. Also, I won't have to wait so long to see if George Brett is playing his rookie card.

Is it stupid to ask if anyone is interested in an opening day on Monday night? Or at least two days after waivers?

I think this would be less rushed and give us a chance to finalize our rosters.

I've had the 1st overall pick twice. Both times with the 80s set. Both times choose Robin Yount 1st. Both times got his worst card.

I assumed most would want to start right away given manual drafts result in way less roster tweaking than a normal auto draft would. Even the waiver process is somewhat anticlimactic after a 14 round manual draft. However, maybe I'd feel differently if I was a participant! So let's just go ahead and vote on this - there are new options for when the league starts, so please indicate which of the following you prefer - I'll limit it to these 3 options:
1. Opening day 2 days after draft (with waivers 1 day after draft, this is the "quickest" opening day option)
2. Opening day 3 days after draft
3. Opening day the next Monday after the auto-draft that's at least 3 days away ("traditional" setting for auto draft)

Even if you have already expressed an opinion on this, please reply again with your formal vote. We'll go with majority.

Do we really need waivers??

I vote for (Number 2) having at least three days after draft. Remember with WAIVERS we will not be able to make free agent moves for the first day and a half.

Having one day to finalize roster is not enough time in my opinion.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the Monday start. But I seem to be in the minority.

I vote #2. We need waivers and that will give us an extra day to straighten out rosters if anyone picked a player that was drafted by someone else. As a reminder - put all your draft picks on the bottom of your draft card.
