before you read please understand i love strat and appreciate your hard work running this!

....I think this was a bad idea delaying, we were filling so great with the first two events.....now stall city.

AND

I don't like the replacement manager thing, regardless if that manager is trying to be competitive or not, it is not the same kind of league as the other 10 or 11 the rest of us are in.

SO, i do not like the whole league assignments thing and wish we could just enter leagues (like we used to). would it not be THAT much easier to run things?

Yes i know why league assignments were created in these tourneys.....but I honestly miss the old (and far faster, and far less stress, and far easier to manage) way. I really do not care if people try to take the time to join leagues with "meh" managers while others stay away from leagues with quality managers.

it is a mystery set, great equalizer, many teams I have built have looked awesome and won maybe 70 games.

interesting points Ducky, yeah, my main complaint is I missed finishing the last TWO mystery torunies because I was not notified of when my league was filling (one year it was bc the comish had the wrong email for me). So yes, just another reason why league assignments SEEM to be far more work and time than just creating the leagues and letting them fill like barnstormers.

We've never randomly entered leagues in the tournament. Leagues have always been assigned. The way to eliminate replacement managers is to close the draft at the last full 12 complement of managers. When I ran the tournament, I did that. The managers left over after a full 12 were used to fill out the initial tournament slots if someone was a no show. If they replaced someone from the start, they were in for the entire tournament. The only issue with this is it caused heartburn for the managers that dragged their feet signing up or signed up late because they did not see the tournament announcement. There were a few managers left out of the tournament, but we did not have replacement managers playing unless someone bailed on the tournament after an event. If it was a free entry format, there are managers that would avoid joining leagues with certain managers and others that would try to join leagues with inexperienced managers.
