Ok, per Rosie's request, my idea of needs for Franchises.

Need SP depth: Jones and Roberts then not much
Better 1b option--that 92 McGriff would be nice
Better 2b option--Loretta hits but is a 3, Flannery doesn't currently have a usable card
Weak at LF--if eligible in Lf as well as CF, maybe that 70 Cito Gaston?
Need better CF option-- Steve Finley?

MY thoughts on Andy's needs list:

SP--Adding Peavy and 98 Kevin Brown would work here; if KBrown has too many cards already, then 91 Andy Benes world work.

1B option either 92 McGriff or 09 Adrian Gonzalez would work.

2B--Only legit, ate option would be 99 Quilvio Veras

LF--'98 Greg Vaughn (current card is one no one would use) would be a great option.

CF--Prefer 96 Finley to Gaston

Some thoughts on Padres additions:

1/ Clay Kirby. 1971 season. A nice season for this righthander. 1.182 WHIP, 117 era+. His best season (267 innings, 215 hits allowed, lots of walks, but a fair amount of strikeouts, relatively few hrs allowed. http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/736440/1670/1/70

2/ Mark Kotsay. 2001 season. A good, solid season (116 ops+), all OF positions. Would appear to have pretty good defense this year.

A VERY nice LF option for the Padres would be the '58 Greg Baughn: .272. .343, .567, 50 HR. This is a franchise with very little power.

Tom,

We know you go back, but .... a 1958 Padre? Think we're going to have to bust out the ol' Deloreon for that card... ;)
