Help! Card selection?

Player Set: All-Time Greats 9 1980-2019

Playing in a friendly 24 team league. This is all I know about league at this point. Never played this set. We have a one round player card selection before random draft then serpentine back with ballpark. I have the first player card selection from set. Which player should I select? Thanks (in advance) for the input.

I would think Bonds is your best player by a lot but depends on your salary cap.
Johnson and Maddux are the top pitchers.

With 24 teams you probably aren’t as worried about hitting your top cap numbers

I’d go Bonds and build around him

I found out salary cap is 80mil. Also the league is no DH!!
