2022 Jeff McNeil NYM 2b-2 e5 LF 3 e4 (+1) RF 3 e4 3b4 e14 .326/.382/.454

Won the batting title this year and would give the Mets another solid 2b option.

I nominated '69 Spanky Kirkpatrick for the 22.1 add. He got only 14 votes and 1%.

Still think he'd be a fun add, if only for his versatility, platoonability, and the fact he has no card from a 16-year career.

Chico Ruiz, journeyman infielder for the Cincinnati Reds and the California Angels in the 60s.

Interesting trivia.. Ruiz's steal of home in the Reds/Phillies game of 9/21/1964 was the only run of the ballgame, leading to a Reds victory and which was the beginning of the Phillies late season collapse.

He is also the only player ever to pinch hit for Johnny Bench.

His '68 season is probably the best. https://www.baseball-reference.com/play ... ch01.shtml

Not sure if anyone posted this name by 1969 Frank Fernandez - CATCHER. Stats will not do it justice, you need to look at the card.

Vs RH he’s a “48” ( my ratings ) of on base chances- 39 WALK chances , a sold HR on the 9 and split on the 5 for 6 more points and 8 MAX Diamonds !

Vs LH slightly less OBP and only 6 Diamonds

….3 e2 with zero arm

This card will be a favorite, especially to Yankee Fans

Randy Ready, 1987 season

https://www.baseball-reference.com/play ... ra01.shtml

OPS+ of 153, 5.8 WAR.

Some years ago, an L.A. Times sportswriter did a humor column updating the Who's on First routine, but in this case, he used the players Mike Dunne, Jim Gott, and Randy Ready.

It's a game between the Pirates and the Padres, which Dunne started. Late in the game, the Pirates manager goes out to the mound, and he's there for a long enough time that the umpire goes to the mound and asks the manager "Is the pitcher done?", which he understands as "Is the pitcher Dunne?" When the manager replies in the affirmative, then the umpire says "I guess you're going to get a relief pitcher." The manager says, not necessarily. Then the umpire says "but I thought you said your pitcher was done." The same play on words goes with the batter. Is the batter Ready?

kenhutchings, I nominated Randy Ready for the 25.1 poll. He didn't make it, unfortunately.
