Just a quick plug for the '75 Doug Rau card holding over from previous elections.

As you know, there is a real deficit of LHSP* who in general are pretty good but are extra tough on righties. You'll be glad to have him in your Rau-tation against those aggravating platoon lineups of Duncan, Mercer, Blowers, et al. Have a look at the nice card, which I'm guessing will be priced in the $4-6M range: https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/739903/1670/1/70

So Rau, Rau, Rau your vote, and let's add the underrated and highly useful Dodger lefty to the box.

AL/NL cards from 1876-2023 are eligible.

Our 24.4 parameters are as follows.
1. One nomination per member only
2. When we hit 40 unique nominations we will begin voting (after Andy posts card analysis)
3. We will have one poll of 50 cards; the top 25 will be added
4. Next "x" highest vote getters will get another shot in 25.1

Please submit nominations in a 'Year Player Team Position Comments' format.

To be included in the 24.4 poll:
2010 Brian Wilson SFG RP 35
2022 J.T Realmuto Phillies C 35
2009 Andrew Bailey Oak RP 34
1952 Carl Erskine BRK RHP 33
1986 Kirby Puckett MIN CF 32
1975 Doug Rau LAD SP 31
2009 Trevor Hoffman Mil RHP 30
2000 John Vander Wal PIT OF 29
2019 Nolan Arenado Col 3B 29
1879 Paul Hines Providence CF 28

1. 2023 Yandy Diaz TB 1b-3b AS/MVP-6/SS AL batting champion .330/.410/.522 excellent first baseman very playable at 3rd. Would be the offensively-challenged Rays best hitter for average and a huge addition to the franchise! https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/93640/2023/1/2023
2. 2023 Mookie Betts LAD RF/2B. Betts best year overall (.307 .408 .579), most balanced and career high in Homeruns (39). 1e0-3 in RF. Also can play 2b 2e6 https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/91946/2023/1/2023
3. 2009 Ryan Howard Phi 1b .279/.360 /.571 1b 3e15 8r 37 doubles 45 homeruns 141 rbi in game injury risk. Howard was a huge threat in the middle of those Philly lineups in the mid/late 2000’s. Only has 1 card this one is very different than that one. https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/532/2009/1/2009
4. 2023 Ronald Acuna Atlanta Braves RF 41HR .337/.416/.596 https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/93995/2023/1/2023
5. 1967 Hoyt Wilhelm, White Sox, RHRP, 3 inning endurance. 8-3 1.31 1.034 12 saves. Career best ERA. Wilhelm was the first relief pitcher admitted to the HOF, the first pitcher to have 1000+ appearances & 50+ years later is 6th all time in games pitched. His 2 relief pitcher cards don’t do him justice as arguably the best relief pitcher of his era and Wilhelm is long overdue for a more usable relief pitcher card. https://max.strat-o-matic.com/stats-and ... pe=Pitcher
6. 1904 Fred Glade, SLB, RHP, 18-15 (on a team that won only 65 games), 2.27 era, 2.17 fip, 1.059 whip. The "Millionaire Ballplayer" (because of his family's ownership of what would eventually become ConAgra). Supposedly the fastest pitcher of the era. Pitched à la Luis Tiant, with a 180-degree twist. 16th in career FIP. No card.
https://max.strat-o-matic.com/stats-and ... pe=Pitcher
7. 1885 Buck Ewing, NYG, C-RF-3B-CF, RH, .304/.330/.471. No card in the set like this one. HOF Catcher rated 1(-4)e16. Stealing A *4-7(17-14). Run 1-15. Bunt-B/H&R-B, 15 DO, 12 TR, 6 HR. 4.6 WAR. Only 2 gbA per side. Clutch neutral. BBMax link: https://max.strat-o-matic.com/stats-and ... ype=Batter. Read more: https://forum-365.strat-o-matic.com/com ... 7934ec2d40
8. 1898 Clark Griffith CHC SP. 1.88 ERA, 10.7 WAR. Best season of a 20 year career. Hall of Famer with one middling card currently
9. 2023 Corey Seager TEX Left hand hitting 3R Shortstop with a 1013 OPS. Will be very cheap with a 3 injury rating and 312 rating.
10. 1962 Ernie Banks CHN 1b played more games at 1B than he did at SS, yet all we have are SS cards for him. I'd like to nominate the 1962 Banks 1B card. (And if we insist on a SS card, could we at least get his gold glove season of 1960?)
11. 1917 Art Nehf Boston Braves 1.01 Whip 233 Innings is by far his best year, and a dramatic improvement over his current cards, none of which are even his top 5 years.
12. 1971 Willie Montanez PHI OF Career high in HR (30) & RBI (99). Max 3 game injury. LH power hitter dominates righties. Huge improvement on current '77 card.
13. 2016 Madison Bumgarner, SF, SP, his best season overall in terms of ERA+ (146), 2.74 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 226 IP (career high), 251 strikeouts (career high), 54 walks, 6N for hitting. https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/91308/2016/1/2016
14. 1978 Jon Matlack Tex P - Set a career best in era (2.27) and WHIP (1.12). Rangers only have 2 useable Left handed starters. Matlack spent 6 years with Texas and this card would surely get some use.
15. 1908 Elmer Steele Boston SP/RP .83 whip
16. 1923 Charlie Jamieson, LF, Cleveland Indians. We have 3 Jamieson seasons, but not his best! He hit .345, his OBP was .422 with 36 doubles, 12 triples, 2 homers and 18 steals, plus he is bulletproof this season!
17. 2008 Milton Bradley TEX DH/OF. 321 .435(led league) .563 NO CARD. Volatile player's best season. If you can deal with his off-field (& on-field) behavior, it's a great card!
https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/123/2008/1/2008
18. 1983 John Denny PHI SP 19-6 with 1.16 WHIP, only 9 HR in 242 innings. CY Young Award Winner which ought to be included in ATG. Should also be slight upgrade on his only card in the set (1978 STL) and helps pitching starved Phillies EXP franchise.
19. 1994 Darrin Jackson, White Sox, RF 2(-1)e2 Bats R .312 10 51 .362 .455 .817 Career highs in BA, OPS. Near career bests in SLG & OPS+. Long time Sox broadcaster survived 1987 testicular cancer to play 12 years MLB + 2 seasons in Japan. No card. https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/7757/1690/1/90
20. 1908 Ed Walsh CWS Throws-R BAL-E END-S8/R5- 1.42 ERA .860 Whip
21. 2013 Will Venable SD Padres, White Sox new MGR, WAR 3.5, G-151, 2B-22, 3B-8, HR-22, SB-22, BA-.268, OB-.312, SLG-.487, OPS-.796, DEF- CF & RF 2(0)e4, Stealing (A), Running 1-15.
22. 1886 Hardy Richardson DTN LF-2(-2)e25 Slashline: .351/,402/.504 Stealing-AA His e-rating will get cut down. Also plays 2B/SS/3B. NO Card.
23. 1886 Cap Anson. lots of Extra Base hits, led the league in RBI's with 147. .371 BA, .433 OBP. and a RHB with a small balance R. need an extra base hitting dead ball era first basemen that hits RHP's for small ball parks that excels in RBI's!
24.1950 Sid Gordon BSB Bats-R BAL-2R 3b-4e16, LF-3(-1)e4 INJ Risk-15 (Righty who kills righties, how do we not already have this card in the set?)
