And?

Ive already stated that guys whose obp is made up of a lot of walks are going to consistently under perform.

Here is a thread on the ATG forum about the cards that might help to understand why folks aren't making much sense...

One more attempt to get my point across. The card adds aren't just about what YOU want. There is a whole community of players that want cards for different reasons. Franchise players wanted the Mets Piazza card. Rays fans want some cards representing their franchise. Many of us almost never play at 200m or even 140m and prefer the lower caps from 60-100.

I truly hope that you high-cap players get your 25 card add this round, so you might lighten up on the rest of us for awhile.

Listen, Im trying to say this as nicely as I can, but you are entirely missing the point, and if you had actually read the thread you'd see that other players who DO NOT/RARELY PLAY HIGH CAPS are saying similar things.
Ive actually have played at every cap level, so even though you are consistently attributing to what Im advocating for to be one thing, its actually that I want USABLE players.
Usable meaning a reason to use them other than they are my favorite player because that has zero to do with their cards.

Nope. I think everyone understands the issue, it's not a lack of understanding.

It all boils down to this: Some want CARDS, Some want PLAYERS.

just wanna make sure that Im understanding what you are saying:

so we get every single Ueker card there is and it doesn't matter if they don't get used because we just need to have a card in there with his name on it?
Maybe we need Steve Psycho Lyons, because ya know hes 'psycho'?

Uecker is a straw man argument, or maybe just hyperbole. I don't think anyone wants or needs another Uecker card. But Ray Durham and Torii Hunter, for example, would be nice.

I would like to see every significant player from 1894-2010 have a representative card. I use LOTS of cards in lots of different leagues at many different caps, so I'd guess that I would use most of the recent adds, though many of the players I voted for didn't make the cut this time. Unfortunately, there seems to be a great rush to add current players. I'd rather see players with No Card Representation get added.

Salty:

No one has ever said they want a card in the set and have no intention to ever use it. Call me crazy but if someone wants a card in the set, I assume they have some intended use for the card.

Andy-- sure if we had unlimited card adds then by all means, lets get a rep card for everyone.
BUT until we do, lets get cards that will get used across the spectrum of leagues and by lots of people.
Just having a card for someone that only gets used to say it got used is not a good or efficient way to spend limited capital.

Im happy to respond to logically made arguments such as so and sos card is useful because of X reason, but there is no point to arguing an "I like so and so", "i grew up watching" (we all did), "I didn't know the price".

Okay-- you are crazy.

My intended use is to make a one time only team of funny nicknames, pyscho is perfect.

Thanks very much for weighing in Andy. That is really what it boils down to.

Any player is usable if you are interested in the players and not just the cards as Andy points out. I'm using a few of the new cards already.

I don't get why some folks feel the need to be hateful when someone disagrees with them.

You can lead a horse right to water, but it can still die of thirst. ;)

also, some people may be confusing the words hateful and logical.
Hateful would usually include some sort of personal attack.
