1931 Ben Chapman - needs better representation

1948 Johnny Lindell - no card in ATG

1975 Catfish Hunter - needs a NYY card, this is his best

1997 Andy Pettitte - badly needed

1997 Tino Martinez - needs to be represented

1996 Joe Girardi

1973 Thurman Munson - better card

I like the Yankee nominations a lot...would really like to see Fritz Peterson either 1969 or 1970...he led the league in whip both years, along with so/w ratio...also won 20 in 1970 and led league for 5 straight years in fewest walks per 9 innings...his current card is not a good one...

I was campaigning for the 76 Munson card, but the 73 version is his best card...

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, I have 69 Peterson on the list I streamlined from bills list, but I only chose to list 5-6 addition ideas for each team, and I feel Pettitte is a much more important add.

That's the debate we need, now our Yankee ambassadors (frank and mike)...will take this and provide their Yankee insight!

The yankees are so well represented already, it's almost nitpicky arguing they need more cards. But i do agree with all of Andy's suggestions.

If I were to add a few more, i would suggest:

2004 Hideki Matsui (good to add to the international diversity with an excellent player and a very likable guy)
1982 Dave Winfield (I think Mr. May is deserving of a better yankee winfield card. '86 is so disappointing a year and a letdown for that team that should have been better. I can be talked into another year, but i like '82 winfield because of the power, D, OBP combo -- as opposed to the softer high BA card in '84)
1998 Orlando Hernandez (More international flavor and a great mid-season acquisition from Cuba -- so much excitement for "El Duque" His brother Livan should be added too. Maybe the stats arent so great, but great nostalgia play, and would be a useful card and RP eligible)
1992 Steve Farr (i cant believe i'm writing this, but he had a couple really good years on some really bad teams. My dad liked to joke that the two names in the bullpen went appropriately well together with Howe and Farr.)

I'd encourage the ambassadors to point out the holes of each franchise to help focus the debates.

Yankees EXP & POST needs
EXP-just a little bit more depth, either 1975 Catfish Hunter or 1997 Andy Pettitte
EXP-Maybe another 1b if you don't want to use Mattingly---1997 Tino Martinez should be in set
POST-Not much needed, maybe could add 1948 Johnny Lindell in LF and the 1952 Allie Reynolds (and 1957 Mickey Mantle just for fun---.512 OBP for the season!)

Yankees PRE needs
NOTHING--no needs
Ben Chapman needs his 1931 card in the set, but Yankees don't NEED him

"El Duque" was another personal favorite of mine
