Let's start down the path with a quick pulse on the direction...what should be the focus of this card add? Once we have this piece of direction we'll quickly populate the nominees and get the voting underway.

By voting for a team you might get to also add a few individual cards in, if the team is less than 25 for some reason (not enough players with minimum PAs or IPS, or players from that team might already be in set).

At the risk of being "captain obvious" , wouldn't all cards nominated in the last add that didn't make it be a good place to start?

Well Captain you'd be correct. On the analysis thread that's one of the options I proposed. There has been discussion about the team add concept so I didn't want to dismiss that if a quick majority pointed to that as a top option.

The key word here is "start", because if it's just voting for what was left over last time, then no thanks. Sure, put the list up for voting along with some of the other ideas that have been floated about -- including a big bashing Bonds year and some of the newer players along with Banks, Mays and Musial. I know some of the ambassadors have problems with the newer guys (and the VERY old guys), but at least let us vote them up or down. It would be nice if the list presented to us for voting respected the 3 to 2 ratio that our teams need to maintain (15 position players and 10 pitchers).

Since it appears the ides of adding an entire team did not fly...how about a focus on players that have no cards in the set at all? (Evan Longoria, Andy Pettitte come to mind...)

Thanks,
