One option for the upcoming 17.3 card add is to include a full 25 man roster of an underrepresented Franchise or historically significant team. Please use this thread to nominate a team, make sure to include a few tidbits on why you've chosen this club.
tks

PS. I recognize that not all active community members are in favor of using 50% of our next add for a team. If there's strong opposition we can pivot, but for full disclosure...its the direction we've discussed ever since last summer and one I still support.

I strongly support sticking with adding a full team and I nominate the 2008 Tampa Bay Rays world series team.
The Rays are woefully underrepresented in ATG, not even getting a spot in the drop-down when using the team section of the ATG player set browser. The other 3 newest teams (Marlins, Rockies and D-Backs) all have several more players than TB.
If there is significant opposition to the full team add, I would suggest doing something along these lines - add 10 Rays, 5 Marlins, 5 Rockies and 5 D-Backs instead of 25 from a full team for 50% of the add.
We need more cards to represent the 4 newest franchises, especially the Rays.
Thanks,
Bill

I am not for a team add.
If it's Rays everyone wants than lets just hand pick a full team of players that best represent them. Have a vote for each position and a vote for cards that would be 1 million or less to fill out the bench.
Including a team from one season will have a few cards non franchise league players want and the franchise leagues that use tampa won't win. My suggestion will get good cards from players that don't have a card and tampa could be used for franchise leagues and be competitive.

Interesting spin. So in this case a combination of a Rays all time greats and hand picked reserves not limited to one season. The only part of this suggestion that causes me pause is the additional layer of voting. I think we've proven that we all get weary with multiple layers voting.
But the core of the suggestion has merit and we can figure out a smooth way to get to the players, additional thoughts?

I looked over the franchises and by far the four most underrepresented are as follows:
1. Tampa Bay Rays - 5 players
2. Colorado Rockies - 10
3. Arizona Diamondbacks - 13
4. Florida Marlins - 13
I like dip_77's suggestion, pick a franchise and add a full set/team of players, not necessarily a team from one season. It will take a bit more work but I believe we'll end up with a better group of cards that might be able to stand on their own in some franchise formats and could have some use in ATG.
So looking deeper at the 4 teams above...I totaled the unique players and their salaries below:
1. Tampa Bay Rays - 1 SP / $6.92, 4 Batters / $27.22 = 5 / $34.14
2. Colorado Rockies - 2 SP / $9.57, 8 Batters / $59.00 = 10 / $68.57
3. Arizona Diamondbacks - 6 SP, 2 RP / $38.46, 5 Batters / $31.58 = 13 / $70.04
4. Florida Marlins - 5 SP / $30.06, 8 Batters / $43.31 = 13 / $73.37
I'm proposing we submit the Tampa Bay Rays with 25 cards for this upcoming Card Add. We've already got...
David Price 2012, $6.92 SP
Carlos Pena 2007, $7.07 1B
Ben Zobrist 2009, $7.19 ALL
Evan Longoria 2009, $6.69 3B
Carl Crawford 2010, $6.27 LF
So I'll pause for a moment. Any major objections to this path for half of the next add?

If you're going to add Tampa Bay Rays, you should add 1998 Wade Boggs, since he's the only Ray with a retired number.

I'd much rather see the D'backs added. They have some really good components now and with a few more would become a legit franchise to run with in a franchise league.
That's if you're just gonna run with one team.... I'd still rather see multiple players from each of the four expansion teams added.
