Rosie, I think that Hornsby's slugging pct is off. It should be .756  :o

Think any of the players will get used--
Napoli is missing the Inj+ on the list, but hes still valuable as a C.

I voted for Chipper and Dickey-- who is leading with Goslin by a good bit.

That horns card should be monstrous, and wish we could see it. :?

Sounds like a "no lose " ballot. I was gonna vote Dickey anyway , so out of curiosity mostly, went with him and Hornsby

I'm sure the Hornsby card will be great. But will it be better than 1922 or '24? OPS+ for those years are:
1922 -207
1924 -222
1925 -210
It will be a terrific year, but likely very similar to his other two monsters, or at least so I'm thinking. Napoli looks like it could be a great card. I didn't vote for it and now sort of wish I had.

No disrespect to Dickey or Hornsby, two of the all-time greats, or the folks voting for them, but if the idea is to add more cards for use in high-cap leagues, it doesn't seem to do much just adding more cards for players who already have cards that are always drafted.

Playing at 200m with 24 teams there is always a need for more high-end catchers and third basemen, especially 3B who hit righties. That's why Hank Thompson and Napoli make the most sense to me.

So as far as Horns goes--
this is his highest OPS year 1.245 and that's with a very high slg. so should be powerful.
It was a card that some folks expressed interest in having, and given that its also an MVP card, that makes sense.

As far as Dickey goes, the number are a significant upgrade from his current best .987 OPS. vs. 1045

My opinion about 3bs is that Chippers upgrade and Bautista are probably better than Thompson by a good bit;
since Bautista doesn't get used currently, this newer card would change that.

In any case, all of the cards are good-- there really are no bad ones to vote for.
So if you like Thompson, great.

I'm sure the Hornsby and Dickey cards will both be very well-received. I'm just trying to make a case for voting for cards that would add to the high-cap pool (based on 200m with 24 teams).

I really like that 2007 Chipper Jones card though...

right now the chipper card unless a bunch of folks start voting for it wont be in this year.
the truth is that all of these cards belong in the set.
