So here's the link to Klesko's '99 card from the '90s game:
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/612/1690/1/90I know he's supposed to be a platoon player, but there's not a single hit on his card against lefties, so if there's a pitching change, and HAL fails to pinch hit as HAL often does, Klesko has absolutely no chance against lefties. Plus, he's not exactly Gates Brown against righties. In addition, there are plenty of lefty swinging 1st basemen who are better on both sides of their card than Klesko is against righties. I don't think the '99 9R Klesko would get used much.
I'll take a guy who can play full time any day over a platoon player who isn't even as good on his best side of the card as most of the fulltime players are on each side of their card.
If Klesko's going to be on the ballot, I'm in favor of the '02 card, which has good numbers and is far more balanced than any of his other cards. That card would probably get used alot, especially at caps of $100 mil and less.
