Great News for 19.3!

Greetings,

Strat has agreed to add a second team for 19.3, so we can do both the D-Backs and Marlins teams this year, along with the regular 25 individual card add.

D-Backs have the 2001 championship team, as well as the 100-win 1999 club. Marlins have the 1997 and 2003 championship squads to choose from.

Look for a couple of polls to open soon, perhaps later today, re the team adds.

Thanks,
Bill

This is good news, especially for franchise leagues. While I don't play any of those, I admire Strat's commitment to make this game excellent!

Lets not get 1000 leagues ahead of ourselves here--
although this is not negative news, its not a commitment to doing the many many many many things that have gone undone nor does it make up for years of neglect.
You can take it as a positive step but lets not be overly hyperbolic.

I kind of did it on purpose. I was just curious whether Sour Grapes One or Sour Grapes Two would be the first to chime in.

sigh...
Steve-- Based on your usage of the term 'sour grapes' it sure seems as if you don't understand the parable that
its attached to.
Its not a reference that is interchangeable with the word complaint or disappointment, even if you really think it sounds like it should be.

secondly- personally I have no problem acknowledging this is a positive thing-
but why would you purposely attempt to be provocative when there really was no one complaining about anything?
that would actually be much closer to a parable that im not thinking of at the moment-
but is poor sport in any case.

Sorry. Just tired of all the negativity. I come here to escape that.

okay-- no worries.

Just keep in mind- lots of folks went through an awful lot for years here and have every reason to be upset and disappointed.

Having said that- no one will be upset if they ever end up doing things right-
and adding an extra team is certainly a very small, but right thing.

It's nice that Strats throwing us a bone. I've often thought that the expansion era subset should be divided. It runs for appx. 53 years. In a set of many more teams, and much larger rosters. I think that a subset of say, 1996-present should be provided from Strat. They currently have seasons available from 2000 on. Such a move by Strat, would allow the community to focus more on player improvement(NO CARDS AT ALL), rather than us trying to fill more current players. Maybe its wishful, but I think it's a logical progression.
