ATG9 All Eras has the following number of cards:

..............DB...Pre...Post..Exp
Years.......48....26....20....53
Hitters.....462..615...606...1671
Pitchers....320..368...403..1090
TOTAL......782..983..1009..2761

It's time to divide "Exp" into two subsets. Perhaps, "Exp" should end sometime in the 1990's with the next subset ("Mod"?) starting in 1993 (when Marlins and Rockies joined), 1995 (post-strike), or 1998 (when the Diamondbacks and Devil Rays joined).

Good call. In terms of run environment I find the natural diving lines in baseball history occur at 1893, 1920, 1947, 1969, and 1993. A new era could start in 2022 with universal DH.

Upon further thought, I think the eras should be split as
exp: 1967-1992
mod: 1993-present

That way, all of the Rockies and Marlins will be in Modern (without a trickle of their players in the Expansion).

Been calling for a split of this huge subset for a while. Agree that the split would be best @ 1993. It also would keep the dopers together, with their inflated numbers.
