His ’35 card is one of a kind, but a nice cheaper alternative would be the ’36 card. It’s better than ’34 and has better defense (Strat should mitigate some of those errors).

I’m a big believer in the more cards the better. Especially for players in the hall of fame. I’ve said a few times on these boards , if it were up to me all mvp , & cy young seasons would be included and each hall of famer would have 4/5 cards to choose from. Great post. The Dodgers played 156 games in 1949. Two ties were later replayed.

That's why the '36 Gehrig is not bulletproof. So, Strat counts those ties as games played by the team yet does NOT give the players credit for playing in them when it comes to the games played injury formula.

I would respectfully like to add 1974 Willie Stargell to Andy's list. Less power than other Stargell cards, but more balanced. 1974 was the last year Stargell was rated as a 3 in LF. His numbers are below:

1974 Willie Stargell, Pirates, LHB, LF 3(-4 )e11 1B 4e15 .301 25 96 .407 Career bests in BB & OBP. Near career bests in H, 2B, BA, OPS & OPS+. Led NL in OPS and OPS+. Besides having less power than other Stargell cards, this is a different type of Stargell card, as it is about the only Stargell card that hits lefties as well as righties. It was the last year that Stargell was a 3 in LF. Being rated at first base is a nice bonus.

We can get Killebrew off the waiver wire. He has only 3 even cards, at 2L E and 1R. 1959 is a 7L, with 8 Ball Park Homeruns vs righties. Usable at all is a big improvement for this Hall of Famer

I did a study on Killebrew a couple years back. I'll find it and repost.

Some players don't seem to translate as well to Strat, and I feel like Harmon Killebrew is one of them.

Maybe his best combined HR numbers against both sides. He's usable in LF, and with his '4" there, I feel like this card would be cheaper, but still provide nice offense. Led League in HR

I wish there was a card that inspired as much fear as the real Killebrew did in the 1960s, when he led the league in HR 6 times and RBI 3 times. Sadly, he's not used as often as he should be.
