Amazing! No Love for the No Card Players Fred Glade, Hardy Richardson and Paul Hines to name a few.

I don't get the lack of votes for Kirby Puckett. His other cards are overpriced just to knock the crap out of lefties, which you can get for cheap. This card is his most balanced, AND his career high in HR's. I would use this card in CF on a LOT of teams!

voted for Richardson and Hines fwiw...
Think there's a little bigger of a hill to climb of the players we can't see the cards of so easily.
Andy's stat breakdown definitely helps...but of course not everyone is going to spend the time
to look at it carefully- not blaming-- just stating what I 'think' is partly occurring.
Doesn't mean we won't get any of them- but maybe a bit tougher.

Agreed, offering the season card in the nomination can only help the collective analysis. There are some interesting ones without cards, but I just don't visually know the card. Just a preference. Andy's very informative post helps a lot, absolute tip of the hat to him for making this available.

I think there might be something to it (card access) in certain cases, but it certainly isn't hurting Art Nehf or Buck Ewing.

Personally I don’t care about the card itself. My tendency is to vote 1). MVP and CY seasons first as I’m of the opinion they should all be represented. 2). Players without cards. 3). Players with just one crappy card who need a good one. 4). Players who fill needs on the alt history leagues. So early (pre WWII) relievers are gold

I've always been impressed that pre-1960s cards get voted in at all, considering all we have to evaluate them is mostly Andy's "Informed Choices" numbers. Kudos to the community for fighting off recency bias in this regard.

Similarly, voters are walking away from a strong sentimental favorite -- Ernie Banks. The argument that Mr. Cub lacks a card where he can play his career-primary position, 1B, is compelling. But, unfortunately, it just isn't enough to carry a really pretty mediocre card. Ernie will get in as a first baseman if and when SOM adds the entire '69 team, Jimmy Qualls, Willie Smith, and everyone else. Which they should do.

Buck Ewing is a bigger deal than you might think. He was considered the greatest catcher of all-time 100 years ago. This post gives more insight: https://forum-365.strat-o-matic.com/com ... 176aa12d92. It will be an exciting new card, unlike any other.

Would still love to have a round of voting restricted to hitters with fewer than 300 PA and SP with fewer than 200 innings. Or, if the concern is too great that this would just add too many more Mike Blowers-type platoon gods to the set, maybe we could vote in entire teams of players, such as the '69 Cubs or the 1914 "Miracle Braves."

Finally, although he is named last on the ballot, please don't ignore LHSP Doug Rau, arsenic to right-handed hitters and a foil for your opponent's cheap Mariano, Jordy, and Wock platoon strategy. You'll be Rau-warded for your vote.

I would love it if they did full team adds again. I know they have at least 1 of each team in the set, but in my opinion it would be nice to have one of each team per era that the team was around for.
