how do the linebackers come into play?
what does 6-6 mean on a def back?
basically where can I find how to play this game. The "Game Rules" tell very little.
DL have 2 ratings = run stop is 0 or 4 or 5 or 6 (6 is best) pass rush is 0 or 2-12 (12 being best)
LB have 3 ratings = run stop 0 or 4-6.......flat pass stop 0 or 4-6 and pass rush 0 or 2-12
CB just one rating for pass stop on short and long passes 0 or 4-6
Safeties have 2 ratings = run stop and pass stop for short and long passes same 0 or 4-6 ratings.
Essentially, 0 means that when defender is called out (like 20% of the time) he NEVER makes the stop.
4 = makes big stop 33% of time
5 = makes big stop 66% of time
6 = makes big stop 100% of time
This is over simplified, but this is the BIG PICTURE so to speak.
Pass rush is more graduated but leads to sacks on short or long passes ONLY! cannot sack on FLAT passes.....a zero NEVER gets sack.......say a 7 might get like 6 sacks in a season and a 12 like maybe 10+ sacks in a season.
Of course if you face lots of offensive lines with "7"s for pass protection you'll get FEWER sacks and if teams in your division have lots of "0"s, "3"s and "4"s for passs protection you'll get several sacks more over the course of the season.
Hope this helps a tad.
