How are games played out in leagues?

Are the league games actually played? Meaning do I actually play a nine-inning game against someone or against the computer? Or are they always just run by the computer without people actually playing them?

The computer will run the games. You will play 3 games each night with all 3 games being against the same team. Your starters and lineup will be set by the computer unless you want to set your own lineup so you need to set those before games start.
