I actually don't want it to be an automatic decision by the computer.
But I'd like it to have some weight in the decision making process.
If we looked at the set, I'd say lefties hit righties better than righties hit righties.
So when the decision to IBB or not comes up to the computer, I'd like the computer to decide...
RH batter to face RH pitcher. Check.
The decide the other factors after that...
Well, I think you're right- that the IBB decision could be more directed by the individual manager - and should be. The settings are kind of "blunt" as they are right now. And further to your prior post (above), why not let the manager set some guidelines?
Having said that, I am finding more and more with this online game that HAL usually makes pretty good decisions. It can be slightly to your advantage to let the computer manager make decisions sometimes - e.g. to the extent that HAL makes good matchup choices when choosing a reliever to bring in, or what player to start in the bottom of the batting order against an "8R" RHP SP or an "E" RHP SP in the same series.
Unfortunately, I think the IBB is one area where HAL isn't making such good choices. So more manager control is a good thing, and would likely increase the manager's satisfaction with the results!
