But that is not the precedent from past seasons. So would be surprised if they did that.
Then again there was a time when every card had an injury on it even if the player played every game. They changed it because of Ripken never missing a game. They could change this too and declare this is our policy going forward to treat suspensions as if they were injuries for purposes of making out a card.
But then the poll question is whether to include the card or not. I cannot see any justification for not including a card where the player played 100+ games. Thus had to vote both sets.
I agree with you Valen, on all points. How can strat take a stance that is more aggressive than MLB itself? But the PED suspensions should be treated like injuries, and should absolutely affect injury ratings in strat. That way, the players card is less valuable, and will mimic the real life situation. - I just had a funny thought - it's actually not a bad idea - amend the strat injury chart so that a MLB suspended PED user gets a 50 game "injury" on a split card draw of, say, 18-20 on the injury results table. That, together with a higher injury rating, would really mimic real life MLB. The PED user cards could be included in the regular card set (assuming that they would otherwise qualify for inclusion) but they would have a symbol on their injury results reading on their card - like a P or a Pi symbol. That reading would indicate not only the potential "injury", but also the alternate reading on a split card draw of 18-20. Furthermore, you could argue that the card for the following (say) 3 seasons would also have that P or Pi symbol, regardless of whether there were any actual PED suspensions in the following 3 seasons (logic - the existence of alleged repeat offenders).
I kinda like that system! We could debate whether there would be more "suspension" chances on the injury results split draw, and what the injury roll should be for each player, but I think that would be a good system that mimics real life MLB.
