Netplay

Does anyone play netplay? Has anyone played in a netplay league? Is anyone interested in playing in a netplay league?

I did for about three years but found it difficult to play opponents on the west coast (I am on the East coast) along with the opponents who would schedule a series and not show up or schedule a series and then say I have to do something in the middle of your series only to return about fifteen minutes later while you are left sitting there waiting on that person. No, too much time wasted for me.

Games took an 1-1/2-2 hrs per game when I actually played the board game in junior high. I couldn't even imagine scheduling such time for one game, much less a league's worth of such games, now.

I have not had any of the problems you guys mentioned but I have only played this year. I have heard by numerous people how updated and smoother this years netplay is to past years.

I am currently in a face to face board game strat league for the past 14 years. We have a 20 team league with guys who have been in the league for 30+ years. We play 4 game or 5 game series once a week and it takes 2 hours (for the fastest guys) to 4 hours for the slowest guys to play a series.

I'm in a netplay league and we schedule 4-5 6 game series each month. With most guys it's about 15-20 minutes a game so 2 hours or so for a series. Scheduling does get hard if you don't have committed people.

For me it's a totally different experience than online. All the complaints we have about Hal are complaints about the stupid moves I make

I play in a board game 1950's-60's league with people who have played for 30+ years. I am building a netplay league for the up coming 2015 season. We are playing a practice season with the 2014 version to get everyone familiar with netplay and each other. I am trying to get as many managers as possible.
