Looking back a few games, it looks like Hal doesn't have my lineup card in the computer system at all. Pennington was starting at shortstop in game 110, when he got injured.

I'll try deleting it entirely and re-entering it for tonight's games, and I'll make a post as to what lineups get used tonight.

For greater certainty, I'll fill in all 4 lineup cards for tonight's games (lefty, reverse lefty, righty, reverse righty).

I think you should let tech support know, this may be a symptom of the same problem.

Actually, I'm embarrassed to say that I discovered the root of the problem, and it's my own doing.

Contrary to my memory, I had actually entered Mookie Betts into my reverse balance righty lineup as the lead off hitter.

Because I had entered something in the lead-off spot, but left the rest blank, Hal is essentially being instructed to fill in the rest of the lineup for any game where I'm facing a reverse balance right handed pitcher, like Anibal Sanchez is.

Therefore, Hal was actually following my instructions.

Sorry guys, I missed that. It explains everything that happened in game 111, and the prior games.

In the end, it's actually fairly clever - although if I meant to do it, I'd forgotten it. It means that Hal can decide who to put in versus a reverse balance right handed pitcher - which means that Hal can distinguish on his own, as to how to deal with a 9L RHP versus a modestly reverse balance 2L or 1L.

As my British father often says, "As you were".

hopefully hal can make the right calls for you. I wish they would add another option, or just make the reverse lineups kick in at a number higher than 1. often i'll face reverse pitchers at both ends of the spectrum (ie a rh that is L1 and L9)during the same series. my lineup would be different against the 2 given the choice. maybe allow a setting in the manager section where you set the threshold for reverses to kick in.

I don't use them for this very reason. I'm certainly no programmer but I've got to think it is 't that difficult to insert what amounts to an if/then statement into the code. IF SP balance great than X, THEN use reverse lineup.
