DAILY Baseball league. Cishek started despite a healthy full rotation. Remained a F9 the whole 7 innings.

Someone from my league contacted SOM and this is the explanation

"Thanks for letting us know about this. It appears that the team dropped one of the pitchers that was scheduled to pitch in game 4 in the per-game starters section. The rest of the rotation was filled out and the game recognized that the other starters were already scheduled to pitch in other games and could not start Game 4 without starting another game tired. The computer manager then chose a bullpen pitcher to start the game instead. We'll look into this and investigate other ways for the computer manager to handle this without giving the start to a bullpen pitcher."

The problem is I did not drop any starters. My sole transaction was to drop Familia and pickup Cishek, both RP only.

That's funny. Another words.....no valid answers to why Cishek randomly started a game.

Quick question: when did Hal put Cishek into a game after his start? Did he have to take a couple games off, or did he get a save the next night? :?

Pitched a shutout in a second start. It is the lack of fatigue that's glaring.

It's nice to have a card like that starting a game. Haven't seen anything like your situation before. Only when a starter gets hurt have I seen relievers get starts. Usually it's an R2 or R3 if available. Not too many Cishek-type guys have started games for me.

I wonder if there is an error in how Cishek is coded - maybe as a S/R rather than a pure R.

I have not seen pure relievers start except when a starter is injured. When they do start they often do very well and do not seem to fatigue much.

Did you give explicit instructions to HAL as to who should start each game or was HAL left to make the decisions?
