What is your opinion on trades? Are you fine if a league going an entire season without a trade being made or would you like to see more activity?
I was thinking there could be some sort of incentive for making a trade by awarding something like a 5% cash incentive to both parties for actually pulling off a trade.
This forum is seriously outdated. I can't even search with the string 'trades' because "it's too common".
There definitely isnt enough trading but its pretty tough to trade because:
1. There are only 11 other teams and some are averse to trading, some teams are performing well so wont trade and some teams are so far out of the picture that the owners have stopped paying attention.
2. The salary cap makes it tough to find a dollar match with the few teams willing to trade.
3. The positional requirements also add to the difficulty in trading since you usually cant deal pitchers for hitters or vice versa.
4. Most of the time you want to acquire a good player and the other team doesnt want to give up one of their good players.
Bigger rosters would be the biggest boon to trading IMO
Cut Throat league it died when nobody wanted to play.
It was $999m The caveat with this league was... If you sweep a team, you can trade for that player and it had to be agreed to. The trades could be unbalanced too.
Played in 3 of them and I won 2. In the end I was taking the players that hurt the other team more than they helped me. Mike Schmidt could not hit righties at all. My entire SP staff was taken from another team. I swept 3 teams in a row twice.
A couple of hundred grand short of $200M for your RV! I played in a couple of Cut Throat leagues using the 20XX set. They were a blast. Here is one where Mr. BBW had 20 sweeps, thus his high RV and a Ring.
