2023 Season Observation

PostWed May 15, 2024 5:34 am

I am really noticing the wear and tear on the bullpen in the 2023 season. Contributing factors I suspect are the limited starting pitching innings (S5 types) across the board and the limited amount of high inning relief pitchers. I am seeing many games lost (mine and others) due to relief pitchers being brought in already tired. Many I think are seeing the same thing as the amount of pure bullpen arms seems to be around 6. Not surprising as many in 2023 in MLB use the AAA shuttle system to move relief pitchers in and out of the MLB roster when the MLB bullpens have been overused.

Just a heads up as people form teams for the first time in 2023. You will need more pitching spots than you think (no real *starters) so you will need 5-6 starters and I believe you need at least 6 relief spots.

I have noticed starter/relievers relieving in one game and starting the next with no fatigue.
