Double result for a "1" centerfielder

PostFri Mar 21, 2025 11:18 pm

I do not have the super advanced fielding charts, so could someone who does tell me what chain of events has to occur for this rare event to happen. Not griping, just would like to know how improbable the odds were.

There is no result where a hitter should receive a double with a 1 rated CF on a fielding check. Even with the outfield in, with a tied game and a runner on third, the best hit is a single. Would love to see the box score for this one. Even the rare play is an out. All base runners advance 2 bases though as the CF is said to have run into the outfield wall and been dazed resulting in the 2 base tag up.

Doesnt the 365 game allow baserunners to stretch a single into a double? I have seen a ballpark single stretched into a double in this game before.

That wouldn't be indicated as a DOUBLE result in the box score. I believe it would be SINGLE, runner safe on the throw to second I believe. That's why I said we really need a link to the box score so we can see the dice result and what the cards would indicate.

Thanks for the feedback. I obviously shouldn't read box scores late at night. Double off the batter's card and error on the throw.

That one may have been solved, but how about this one:

Rod Carew (1980 set) hit a home run vs a left handed pitcher on a 1-5 roll which should be a triple or a double.

I’m assuming there must be a super advanced rule that allows this. Is that the case?

Here is the box score:

Thanks!

I believe this is what Eddie E mentioned above... but in this case, stretching a triple into a home run.

That shouldn't show in the box score as a HR though, it's TRIPLE and runner advance on throw, but I don't know of another way the runner could have advanced. It may be a quirk in the box score text generator.
